Press kit

Draw what you're not allowed to

Extreme Drawing is a drawing and painting app for children aged about 4 to 10 in which the paper behaves like the real thing: paint bleeds, ketchup splats, pages bake and freeze, and real kitchen science happens on screen. No ads, no accounts, no data collected, and it works offline.

Painted flat-lay on blue: a ketchup bottle, crayons, a cracked egg, a ketchup zigzag on yellow paper, a magnifying glass, red cabbage juice, a red beret and round glasses.

Fact sheet

Extreme Drawing (in Dutch: Extreem Tekenen) is a drawing and painting app for children aged about 4 to 10 by Game Tailors, a game studio in the Netherlands. The paper is simulated cell by cell, so paint bleeds into wet paper, ketchup holds a glossy bead, food left out goes mouldy after a time skip, and a page can be baked, frozen or left a week in the sun. Children can also do real kitchen science on screen, from magic milk to a red cabbage pH indicator, and see safely why bleach and vinegar must never be mixed.

The app is free to start. One optional unlock of the full toolbox is bought once by a grown-up behind a parent gate: €5.99 in the eurozone, local prices in each store, no subscription. No ads, no accounts, no data collected. The apps work offline.

What stands out

Real paper, not cartoons

Watercolour bleeds and dries darker at the edges, wet paper buckles, crayon wax resists water, and coloured lines are raised enough for water to pool inside them.

Time skips

Wait 3 days and mould blooms on the food left behind. Bake the page at 180 °C, freeze it until watercolour grows ice ferns, or leave it a week in the sun for sun prints.

Kitchen science

Magic milk, elephant toothpaste, a cola-and-mints geyser, red cabbage juice as a pH indicator, paper chromatography, invisible ink, and bread dough that rises with yeast.

Safety lessons

Bleach meeting vinegar or lemon fills the room with chlorine gas and the game teaches the child to air the room. Water on burning oil flares up, and the game says: a lid and the heat off, never water.

Nothing scripted in pairs

Things react through shared physical rules (heat, wetness, acidity, time), so combinations nobody planned simply happen.

Made for families

No ads or accounts, a parent gate for settings and the one purchase, and several fingers can draw at once so siblings can share a tablet.
Draw something… or do something you're not supposed to!

Using these images

These are hand-painted illustrations in gouache style, hosted by the brand's eccentric painter in his red beret. They are not screenshots of the app; please don't caption them as "in the app". Real screenshots and clips will be added here. You're welcome to use the images when writing about Extreme Drawing.
